Brian is an undergraduate student studying Biomedical Engineering. He has worked on several projects with the Hitchcock Research Group including FLEx, MAP, ATLAS and TLBC. He has worked on refining the manufacturing process for building pressure sensing insoles with the FLEx project. He has helped design a force measuring speculum for use in the MAP project to help understand correlations between pelvic floor strength and pelvic floor disorders, and he has developed a device used in the MAP studies to aid in measuring a person’s abdominal strength as well as helped improve the quality assurance protocol of the TLBC manufacturing process. He has developed a program that uses data taken at the same time as video, synchronizes them and plays them back for a more robust understanding of the relation between dynamic movements and weight distribution as well as intra-abdominal pressure.
